The removal of residual flashes is carried out by using two alternative or complementary methods according to the type of article.
The cryogenic finishing removes the residual flashes left behind by previous processes, without rounding the angles, with the help of a machine called Sirsi. This is a rotating container, in which through the introduction of nitrogen the items are brought to a temperature of –70°C.
Here the articles are battered by small steel spheres with a diameter of 0,4-0,6mm, which are launched by a turbine. The grinding through abrasion is done by sifters containing water and abrasives.

The rotating movement of the containers, combined with the abrasives’ action, contribute to the elimination of the remaining flashes.
