Membranes are normally used as devices for the regulation or the passage of materials in a liquid or gaseous state. They work mainly in the presence of low and very low pressures and as a result of these particular characteristics, they are generally produced with very fine thicknesses.
Tecnogomma International mainly produces this type of item for gas regulators.
The sizes produced vary from a minimum external diameter ΓΈ A of 15 mm. up to 200 mm. with minimum thicknesses S of up to 0.20 mm.
They are produced mostly of NBR and FKM with materials approved for gas by DVGW according to the standards EN 549 and DIN 3535.
The compounds used, produced by an associated company, are all treated with specific procedures to avoid the presence of even minimal amounts of impurities, which, especially in articles with very fine thicknesses, could otherwise cause holes with a consequent seepage of the device in which they are fitted.
Because of the importance of the purpose served by the seal, Tecnogomma International adopts particular controls both during the raw material and mould acceptance phases and during the production and finishing phases.
